Nominee: Dave Cogott - Oliver's

Dave Cogott is always willing to help the city in their efforts especially charity events. Dave has turned over his restaurant to us on many occasions. Because of Dave's help with the city of Laurel's efforts to help Laurel Mississippi , we w ere able to send $1800 to them in November 2005. Dave also hosted two city fundraising events for our sister city with a bull roast in Feb 2006 and a dining percentage of sales in Sep 2006. Whenever there is a fundraiser in Laurel, Dave is the first one to volunteer himself, his staff, and his place of business. Dave has served for many years on the Laurel 4th of July committee. He is a current member of the Laurel Board of trade, Friends of Laurel Historic Main Street, and board member of the Laurel Millhouse Players.

Student of the Month

Nominee: Nicole Butcher - St. Mary of the Mills School

Nominated by:

Nicole was nominated by Amanda Goco at St. Mary's School. Nicole is a 7th grader who is devoted to her school and vollunteers her time to help teachers in their classrooms. She actively volunteers with school fundraisers, helping the homeless. She is a member of the lacrosse and gymnastics teams. She has received the Christian Achievement Award and has a special talent in art. She is a wonderful student who always puts forth a great effort.
