Citizen and Student of the Month For January 2007! Citizen of the Month Nominee: Bill Williams Throughout his entire career, Bill has distinguished himself in dedication to public service. He currently is chairman of the Board of Directors at Laurel Regional Hospital and has served previously for many years as an active promoter and past president of the Laurel Hospital Auxiliary. Bill serves on the Dimensions Healthcare System Board as Corporate Secretary. Bill is a tutor for the Laurel Literacy Council and a coach for the Boys and Girls Club. Bill Williams is an icon in our community. He is committed to the citizens of Laurel and continues to dedicate his time and energy to their well being. Student of the Month
Nominee: Jennifer Garshell Jennifer is a student at Laurel Senior High School. She is very active in the senior class, takes AP courses and currently has a 3.66 GPA. She is a girl scout, editor of the yearbook and a
senior class officer. She is also the photographer for the yearbook and school newspaper. She has been a summer playground volunteer for the past 3 years and also volunteered as a vacation bible school crew leader. Jennifer volunteers with LARS by participating in "Scouting for Food". She also does face painting at "National Night Out" every year. She has won a scholarship to Mount St. Mary's. If you have any questions please call the Council Office at (301) 725-5300, Ext. 121.
