Special Pickups and Yard Debris Collections are back! Public Works is now collecting yard debris and special pickups every Wednesday throughout March. To schedule either collection, you need to contact Public Works by the end of the day on the Monday before the collection. Call us (301) 725-0088 or e-mail us (dpw@laurel.md.us).
March -- in like a lion out like a lamb. If the winds have scattered your recycling -- here is a suggestion. You may fill a clear plastic bag with recyclables and then put the bag (tied up) into the green bin. If you are concerned that the winds may cause your bin to take a walk, you may use a clear plastic bag, and mark an "R" on the bag. The recycling crew will collect the bag and the recyclables.
Spring Clean-Up! Spring is right around the corner. During the month of April, Public Works will be collecting yard debris on Mondays and Wednesdays. Check back in April for details on extra collections and free collections.
Electronics and Paper Shredding. Back by popular demand the City will hold an electronics recycling and paper shredding event, Saturday, April 14th (8:00 a.m. to noon) at the Public Works Facility (305-307 First Street). Full details and directions will be in the April What’s New at DPW update.
Larger Recycling Carts! Public Works still has some 35- and 65-gallon recycling carts. If you would like to upgrade to a cart from a bin or upgrade to a larger bin, please contact Public Works. To reach us by phone call (301) 725-0088 or e-mail us at (dpw@laurel.md.us).
