
Pete Piringer, pictured, is the Director/Public Informaiton officer for the Department of Marketing and Community Outreach. The primary function of the Department is to provide useful information of public interest and importance to the community, including the residents and businesses within the city limits, as well as the greater Laurel area. The Public Information Officer develops, prepares and coordinates release of official news advisories, releases and general public information regarding all city issues to enhance understanding of city services, community well-being and public safety.
The Department of Marketing and Community Outreach is being developed and implemented in order to provide the community additional resources in an effort to promote Laurel as a safe and friendly place to live, work and visit, as well as be true to the City Motto – ‘Progress through People’.
