The City of Laurel Emergency Operations Center has been shut down. Non-emergency calls may be made to LPD 301-498-0092. Emergency calls may be made to LPD 301-725-3000 or 911.
Crews worked throughout the night dealing with trees and wires down. Public Works and Code Enforcement personnel are continuing to respond to reports of trees down, wires down and roadway flooding hazards. Conditions are improving rapidly.

The weather station at Laurel High school recorded a 59 mph wind gust at the height of the storm. Indications are the Laurel area received approximately 6 inches of rain in the last 24 hours.
Currently the 300/400 block of Montgomery St is still closed due to a tree and power lines across the road.
The 1200 block of the Brooklyn Bridge Rd. at the City/County line has limited one-way access due to roadway flooding.
The intersection of Cherry Lane and Pirate Lane is closed with several trees across the road.
There are several intersections in the City where traffic lights are out. Residents should remain vigilant as they approach intersections.
Laurel Hills and the portions of the Wellingtons are reported to be without power.
Mayor Moe has authorized a special debris pickup for Tuesday, August 30th. Residents must call Public Works by noon Monday, August 29th to be placed on the pickup list. Public Works can be reached at 301-725-0088.
