Cable Franchise Liason
The City of Laurel has entered into a Franchise Agreement with both Verizon (FiOS) and Comcast. The City Administrator's Office acts as a liaison between City residents and Comcast Cable or Verizon FiOS to resolve issues and complaints regarding the service provided. If you have any comments or complaints about your cable or FiOS service, please contact the City Administrator's Office at 301-725-5300 ext. 2109.
Cable TV Committee
To help further communications between the Cable entities in Laurel and its residents, the City of Laurel established the Cable Committee to advise the Mayor and City Council on issues concerning cable television, including rate regulation, the operation and programming of the public, educational and governmental access channels for which the City is the franchising authority, and appraising the Mayor and City Council of changes and developments in law relating to cable television.
The Committee is made up of five (5) members; one (1) Council Member, one (1) member of the Laurel Cable Network Foundation, Inc., and three (3) citizen members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council for two (2) year terms.
