City of Laurel Situation Status Following Hurricane Irene

The City of Laurel Emergency Operations Center has been shut down. Non-emergency calls may be made to LPD 301-498-0092. Emergency calls may be made to LPD 301-725-3000 or 911.

Crews worked throughout the night dealing with trees and wires down.  Public Works and Code Enforcement personnel are continuing to respond to reports of trees down, wires down and roadway flooding hazards.    Conditions are improving rapidly.

Damage assessments will continue throughout the day.  Report power outages to BGE at 1-877-778-2222 or 1-800-685-0123.

           This is an alert update from the City of Laurel Emergency Operations Department. Mayor Craig A. Moe has declared that the City Snow Emergency and City State of Emergency will remain in effect until further notice.

Mayor Craig Moe's Statement Regarding Snow Emergency Operations

            First, I want to thank all of our residents for their cooperation and patience during this very critical time in Maryland’s and Laurel’s History. Our Department of Public Works is now in their sixth day of around the clock operations. As they continue to clear the Snow Emergency routes, secondary streets and courts, we ask for your continued assistance by remaining off the roads.

City of Laurel Alert for February 9, 2010

            This is an alert from the City of Laurel Emergency Operations Department. Mayor Craig A. Moe has declared that the City Snow Emergency and City State of Emergency will remain in effect until further notice. Please remember not to park on the even side of the city’s snow emergency routes.  Based on the additional snow fall predictions, the City intends to strictly enforce the parking restrictions on the snow emergency routes.

City of Laurel Update on Refuse and Recyclable Collections

            This is a refuse and recycling update from the City of Laurel Emergency Operations Department. Due to the continuing efforts of Department of Public Works to ensure all secondary roads and courts are cleared, they will not be collecting refuse or recyclables today, February 9, 2010.  If you have any problems, please contact Public Works at (301) 725-0088.  Further updates to the refuse and recycling collections will be forwarded to homeowners and residents as soon as possible. City of Laurel Lifts Driving Restrictions

ALERT!

             This is a snow emergency update from the City of Laurel Emergency Operations Department. Mayor Craig A. Moe has declared that the City Snow Emergency will remain in effect until further notice. Mayor Moe is lifting the no driving restriction effective at 7:00am on Sunday, February 7, 2010.  Mayor Moe asks that residents continue to remain off the roads as much as possible to allow Public Works to clear the roadways safely. 

Snow Emergency and State of Emergency Declared Until Further Notice

This is an alert from the City of Laurel Emergency Operations Department. On February 6, 2010, due to the hazardous weather predictions, Mayor Craig A. Moe has declared a City Snow Emergency and a State of Emergency.  These declarations will remain in effect until further notice.  Due to the magnitude of the storm to date, the current treacherous roadway conditions and the prediction of further accumulations of snow, Mayor Craig A.
